Triangles, triangles everywhere!

This started out as a vague idea in the back of my brain but quickly developed into something interesting. I wanted to create a purse with different seams and angles, and after doing some test folding, I figured out how to make it work.

First, here’s my main material. It’s a piece of polyester scarf in a really sweet graphic print, leftover from a different project:

Because of how thin the material was, I needed to use interfacing to stabilize it. I also chose a thicker material for the lining- felt made from recycled plastic (cool!)

Here’s a peek at the folding technique:

And a closer look at the seams. I chose to put them on the outside, mainly because it was easier. But also I liked the bit of gray breaking up the bright print:

I used a belt for the strap, and two plastic vintage buttons and a loop of elastic as closure. Loving the color combo!

This was so quick and easy to whip up, I’ve already got plans for a few more in the same style!

I am also participating in a craft show soon, so I’m going to be blowing through a lot of projects fast-and-furiously. Stay tuned!
