And finally, here’s part three of the boho vintage dress refashion series!
I hated to waste any of this fabulous vintage material, so in addition to the big bag (part 1) and the small clutch (part 2), I offered to make a necklace with some of the remaining fabric.
I cut a long strip of material and sewed it into a tube, then turned it right side out.
My original intent was to use that part of the zipper in the design, but after everything was done it would have been a bit too much so I left it off.
I strung up some wood beads – smaller than the ones I used on previous projects – and then inserted them all into the tube of material. Then, I tied each one off with the coordinating embroidery floss, stitched up the ends, and voila!
The final look was so fun and bright! I’d rock it with a white tank and a pair of jeans, or a multi-colored skirt and some funky sandals. I did hear that the giftee totally loved all three pieces, and I’m so happy that I was able to create something out of her mother’s well-loved dress that she could use and wear, to remember her every day. <3
