Fall is such a lovely time of year in most of the country. For us in Florida, we don’t get the Autumn feeling until the end of October and sometimes not until November!
But when I see an item like a wool skirt at the thrift store, I can’t help but wish we had a little more Fall and a little less Summer around here. I snapped up this awesome lightweight wool skirt last shopping trip and while I was secretly hoping it fit, alas it was just off a bit and the shape didn’t work for me.
No worries! I always have a backup plan – skirt upcycling time! This plan started with locating a coordinating item to use as the strap.
I decided that since this skirt is rather plain, it could use some jazzing up. I used some of the cut off pieces to make an adorable adornment.
After I was finished, I took it outside for a photo shoot!
As you can see, I used a bit of the belt to finish off the bow.
And I added a gold tone magnetic snap to keep everything together.
This is up for sale now on my etsy store. It’s the perfect addition to your fall wardrobe. Lightweight, roomy, stylish and earth friendly!!
Next week, I’ll show you the other skirt purse I have been working on. If you can’t wait, here’s the “before” photo:
